World Gratitude Day is celebrated on September 21 annually. This day aims to remind us of the importance of expressing gestures of thanks and appreciation. Understandably, sometimes we can get caught up in our busy lives and neglect to show how grateful we are for the people around us.

Many people believe that once you commit a simple act of kindness for someone, you don’t need to manifest that kind of kindness repeatedly. But if you do, it makes the world a better place. After all, it’s your world, and you have to live in it!

History Of World Gratitude Day


The idea for a ceremony day of appreciation began in 1965 in Hawaii during an international race dinner and it has been feasted on September 21st for the past 51 years. Took place at the East-West Center, the dinner was presented by the director of the United Nations Meditation Group, meditation guru, Sri Chinmoy.

He hinted at the plan as a Universally unifying vacation and every person in attendance votive to hold a gratitude Assembly every September 21st in their own place. The United Nations Meditation Group officially feasted World Gratitude Day on September 21, 1977, at the Headquarters of New York where Sri Chinmoy was honoured for his work. Since its originate, World Gratitude Day has attended in various countries around the globe.
